President calls for expansion of Iran-Japan trade ties
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday called for enhancing level of Iran-Japan trade.
He made the remark in a meeting with new Japanese Ambassador to Tehran Kinichi Komano.
President Ahmadinejad said when the volume of Iran-China trade stands at dlrs 30 billion, that of Tehran-Tokyo must have amounted to dlrs 50 billion.
Iran and Japan can turn the global conditions to the benefit of all independent nations by expanding their all-out cooperation, he reiterated.
Referring to the two countries as two big and influential countries along the history, he said the two nations enjoy close and lasting ties.
If there are few dark points in Tehran-Tokyo relations, they are stemmed from interference of foreign forces in the two countries’ domestic affairs, Ahmadinejad reiterated.
For his part, the Japanese envoy stressed that Tokyo is willing to further promote all-out ties with Tehran.
Praising the law on the 'targeted subsidies' to be implemented in the Islamic Republic of Iran, he emphasized that the Iranian government has made great strides to promote development and public welfare.
