Russia-Vietnam relations have nature of strategic partnership

HANOI, October 31 (Itar-Tass) - Relations between Russia and Vietnam
have the nature of strategic partnership, said Vietnamese President Nguyen
Minh Triet here on Sunday at a joint news conference with the Russian
leader after the signing ceremony of several bilateral agreements.
"Russia and Vietnam are bound for long by kind and trustworthy
relations," noted Nguyen Minh Triet. According to the Vietnamese leader,
they "have the nature of strategic partnership".
The president emphasised that Vietnam "would like to develop relations
with Russia in many spheres". The sides "made many high-level visits in
the recent past and signed many important documents," said Nguyen Minh
Triet. However, according to the president, the present potential permits
to develop further bilateral cooperation.
The Vietnamese president noted that Russia plays an important role in
the international arena. "Russia can make a great contribution in
maintaining stability both in the world and this region," he concluded.
