PLO highlights Israeli violations in the month of July
Ram-Allah, August 04 , SPA -- The National and International
relations Department at the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)
said today that seven Palestinians including two children were shot
dead by Israeli occupation forces and 145 others were injured
including 27 children in the Gaza Strip and West Bank last July.
The Department of National and International relations in its
monthly report for July, 2008, issued here today said that the
Israeli occupation forces continued to violate the rules of
international humanitarian law and the Fourth Geneva Convention
through committing more crimes against the Palestinian people and
their properties.
However, the last July report shows that 145 civilians including 27
children were injured by the Israeli Forces.
The report also highlighted the killing of innocent boy called Ahmed
Husam, who was shot in the head while he was participating in local
peaceful demonstration against the construction of the Separation
Wall in Na'alen.
The total number of people who died during the Gaza closure has
surged to 21 civilians, taking the total number of dead persons to
221 since the imposition of the closure including many toddlers who
were deprived of seeking medical care aboard.
The Israeli army launched a campaign of mass arrest, detaining 422
Palestinian civilians in July.
The Israel Forces use Military checkpoints as trap-stations for
passers-by. The number of Palestinian People detained in Israeli
jails totaled 11,500 captives.
During the month of July, the Israeli Occupation Army demolished 7
civilian houses displacing a large number of residents. In addition
to these excesses, the Israeli forces also handed over 33
notifications for houses' demolition and their residents'
evacuations.
The report pointed out that occupation authorities demolished the
building of Abu Eisha in Beit Hanina in Al-Quds (Jerusalem),
comprising six stories and inhabited by seven families who were all
displaced to an open gound in addition to an attempt to seize homes
in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Al-Quds,historically
owned by Palestinian families in order to transform the region into
the centre of new settlement at the side of East Al-Quds.
The report also noted escalation in Jewish settlers' attacks on
property and citizens.
In the village of Burin, Nablus settlers launched a number of
missiles toward the area around the village raising fear and terror
in the hearts of citizens.
The Jewish Settlers deliberately set one of the houses on fire. They
went beyond that and attacked several houses in Hebron and threw
stones at passing citizens' cars on the streets near the settlements.
