Iran, Albania call for expanding economic cooperation

Iranian Ambassador in Tirana held talks with Albanian Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto on issues of mutual interests in Tirana, Albania capital, on Thursday.


Referring to cultural and historical common grounds between Iran and Albania, Ali Amoei called for boosting political, economic and cultural cooperation.

Praising Albania's geographical situation, Iranian envoy underlined that this country would be considered as a 'communication bridge' between Tehran and West Balkan countries.

He said the two countries enjoy huge economic potentials, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran is willing to make investment in tourism and agricultural fields in Albania.

Haxhinasto, for his part, described Iran as the cradle of global civilization and valuable wealth in human culture, adding that Tirana mulls expanding economic cooperation with Iran.

They reviewed international and regional issues, and situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and the Middle East, in particular.
