Agriculture minister calls for rationing water usage

SANA'A, Aug. 04 (Saba)- Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation
Mansor al-Hoshabi called on all to ration use of waters in
irrigation or other purposes to preserve water storage of the
country.

In a consultative meeting held in Sana'a, al-Hoshabi
pointed out to the importance of the meeting to improve plans
associated with developing the water sector in Yemen.

The meeting was organized by the Project of Sana'a Basin Management
in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation and
Ministry of Water and Environment.

The minister also called for gathering efforts to performance of the
facilities of the ministries of agriculture and water to protect
water storage of the nation.

Currently, Indian company for consultative services is studying
possibilities of supporting water sector in Yemen and water services
in the rural regions.

Some 50 participants from different concerned bodies took part in
the meeting to discuss suggestions to back water sector in the
country.
