Investments in 2008 has reached YR 54, 257 billion, says GIA's
SANA'A, Aug. 04 (Saba)- Size of Arab and Foreign investments in
Yemen for the first half of 2008 have amounted to YR 54, 257
billion, says statistic bulletin of the General Investment Authority
(GIA).
The bulletin clarified that the GIA has registered 28 Arab and
foreign projects during the period January- June 2008 and that these
projects have created 2549 job opportunities.
The projects, topped by Saudi and Lebanese ones, are distributed on
industrial, service, tourist and agricultural sectors.
The GIA has also registered in the same period 169 investment
projects, including 28 Arab and foreign ones, with the total
investment cost of YR 200, 550 billion. These projects would create
job opportunities for 8617 people.
