Leader wraps up historic visit to Qom
TEHRAN, Oct. 30(MNA) -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei ended his 10-day historic visit to Qom and arrived in Tehran on Friday.
Ayatollah Khamenei visited the holy city of Qom on October 19. He was heartily welcomed upon his arrival.
During his visit, the Leader met with people from different walks of life in Qom including grand ayatollahs and maraja taqlid (Shia clerics who are regarded as sources of emulation), members of the Society of Qom Seminary Teachers, members of the High Council of Qom Seminary, foreign theological seminary students and clerics, veterans and families of martyrs, university students and professors, Basij members, and a number of local and national officials.
In a statement issued on Friday, the Society of Qom Seminary Teachers commended Ayatollah Khamenei’s visit to Qom and described people’s warm welcome to the Leader as “reaffirming allegiance with the Late Imam Khomeini and the causes of the Islamic Revolution”.
