Ba-Surra held talks with Kuwaiti, Malaysian, Cuban ambassadors

SANA'A, Aug. 04 (Saba)- Minister of Higher Education and Scientific
Research Saleh Ali Ba-Surra held talks during his meeting on Sunday
with Kuwaiti ambassador to Sana'a Salem al-Zamanan over higher
education andscientific research mutual cooperation ties between the
two countries and means of boosting and improving them.

The meeting discussed preparations for Kuwaiti Education Ministry
undersecretary for higher education sector Rasha al-Sabah's visit
to Yemen to sign bilateral educational cooperation agreement between
the two countries.

Ba-Surra confirmed the deep-rooted historical relations linking
Yemen with Kuwait, pointing out to the assistance provided by Kuwait
for Yemeni people in higher education field, especially its support
to set up Sana'a University, in addition to other necessary vital
projects.

On his part, the Kuwaiti ambassador confirmed his country's interest
to boost and improve its relations with Yemen in various
fields,particularly in higher education field, expecting Kuwaiti
educational official visit to Yemen would achieve positive results
in this field.

It is worth mentioning that Kuwait University would provide, in the
upcoming period, thousands of scientific books as a gift for Sana'a
University.

On the other hand, Ba-Surra held talks with the Malaysian ambassador
to Sana'a Abdul-Samad Othman aspects of cooperation ties between the
two countries in higher education field and means of boosting and
improving it.

During the meeting, they discussed completing measures to open a
branch of the Malaysian University for Technology in Sana'a in the
upcoming October.

The Minister has welcomed Malaysian investment in higher education
field in Yemen, expressing his hope that the branch of the Malaysian
University for Technology in Sana'a will become an example for
Malaysian significant universities and a supporter of Yemeni
educational institutions.

Moreover, Ba-Surra held talks with the charge' d'affaires of Cuban
embassy over results of higher education minister's visit to Cuba
and mechanisms and methods of implementing cooperation agreements
between the two countries.
