Search for NSW teen goes into dense scrub

Searchers have scoured dense bushland on the NSW Central Coast for signs of
schoolboy Matthew Appleby who has been missing for 10 days.
The search for 17-year-old Matthew resumed on Thursday around Kincumber Mountain
with police officers and dozens of State Emergency Service volunteers involved.
Police were acting on new leads, including unconfirmed sightings of Matthew about
the area.
"There has been information relating to likenesses but no confirmed sightings,"
Inspector Katherine Hawkins told journalists at Kincumber Mountain.
The search is expected to continue on Friday.
Matthew was last seen dropping his younger brother at a local primary school in
Terrigal on the morning of October 18.
He was then expected to walk to nearby Terrigal High School but never arrived.
Last week, there were extensive ground, water and air searches around Avoca Beach
which uncovered a few personal belongings, including a bag and shoes.
Matthew was last seen wearing his school uniform of grey pants, white collared
shirt, navy jacket and black shoes.
Matthew's family has said his disappearance was totally out of character.
Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
