TURKISH PLASTIC SURGEONS DUE TO PAKISTAN

ISTANBUL (A.A) - 26.10.2010 - Turkish plastic surgeons will travel to Pakistan to conduct surgeries and give training.
Turkish Reconstructive Microsurgery Association's Chairman Prof. Ferit Demirkan said on Tuesday that Pakistan was hit by the biggest flood disaster ever in the last 80 years which killed at least 1,500 people and affected 12 million people.
Turkey continued to extend financial and moral support to this country, a group of volunteer plastic surgeons would travel to Pakistan in January, 2011, Demirkan said.
People in Pakistan were in need of treatment for injuries, he said.
We will both make surgeries and give microsurgery training to Pakistani doctors, he said.
It will be the world's first mobile microsurgery class, added Demirkan.
Floods triggered by heavy monsoon rain have scoured Pakistan's Indus river basin late July, killing more than 2,000 people, forcing 6 million from their homes and disrupting the lives of about 20 million people.
