Russia suggests 2012 world bandy championship be held in Kazakhstan.

ASTANA, October 26 (Itar-Tass) -- The Russian Bandy Federation has
suggested that the 2012 world bandy championship be held on Kazakhstan's
reconstructed Medeo outdoor speed skating and bandy rink located in a
mountain valley on the south-eastern outskirts of Almaty, Kazakhstan's
chief bandy coach Vladimir Savchenko told journalists on Tuesday after
test bandy competitions ahead of the seventh Asian Winter Games-2011.
"Bandy has been put on the program of the Asian Winter Games for the
first time," said Savchenko. "Apart from us, taking part in the
competitions will be bandy players from China, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, and
possibly from India."
The 7th Asian Winter Games will be held in Kazakhstan's Astana and
Almaty from January 30 to February 6, 2011. Competitions will be held in
11 sports disciplines. According to the Game's organizers, official
applications to take part in the Game have arrived from 24 countries
(Kazakhstan, South and North Koreas, Japan, Kuwait, Thailand,
Turkmenistan, Jordan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Hong Kong, the Philippines,
India, Nepal, China, Lebanon, Tajikistan, Singapore, Qatar, Uzbekistan,
Taipei, Indonesia, Kyrgyzstan, and the United Arab Emirates).
