Leader’s visit to Qom foils enemies’ post-poll plots

TEHRAN, Oct. 25 (MNA) -- Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said the Supreme Leader’s visit to Qom foiled the enemies’ plots, particularly the post-election ones.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, started a nine-day visit to Qom on Tuesday and was heartily welcomed upon his arrival.

Larijani told a meeting of judicial officials on Sunday that certain persons are attempting to separate Islam from clergy and politics.

The warm welcome to the Leader by ordinary people, religious scholars, and grand ayatollahs came as a “practical response” to the “futile claim” by biased media outlets that clerics are separate from the Islamic system, he noted.

The Judiciary chief added that according to the Leader the Islamic system is meaningless without clergymen.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Larijani called the subsidy reform plan a major economic surgery, saying the Judiciary is fully cooperating with the administration to make the plan effective.
