Iran to participates in Int’l Renewable Energy Conference in Delhi
Iran is to participate in the 4th Edition of International Renewable Energy Conference which is to kick off from 27th October in New Delhi.
Beside Energy Minister of Iran Majeed Namjoo, President of New Energy Organization of Iran Yusuf Armoodli and high ranking delegation is to visit the Indian capital to take part in the three-day (27-29 October) Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference (DIREC) 2010.
President of India Pratibha Devisingh Patil would inaugurate the conference at Vigyan Bhawan.
More than 50 countries are expected to participate in the event hosted by India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah is to preside over the function.
The three-day international conference, having Parallel Workshops, a Trade Show Exhibition and One to One Meetings, has the theme of ‘Up scaling and Mainstreaming Renewables for Energy Security, Climate Change and Economic Development.
DIREC 2010 would bring together world’s leaders in the field of renewable energy from governments, civil society and private sector.
It would provide an interactive forum for them to discuss and exchange their visions, experience, and solutions for accelerating the global scale up of renewable energy.
DIREC 2010 is the fourth gathering of a series of meetings started from an initiative
taken at the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg.
The three first meetings were respectively held in Bonn in 2004, Beijing (BIREC) in 2005 and Washington (WIREC) in 2008.
The conference is expected to be the premier renewables gathering ever held in India.
