Thailand's HM the King lays wreath at King Rama V Statue at Siriraj Hospital

BANGKOK, Oct 23- Thailand's 82-year-old monarch made an appearance along with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn late Saturday afternoon to lay a wreath at the King Rama V Statue at Siriraj Hospital, marking the 100th anniversary of Chulalongkorn Day.

In a pink suit with a white-pink striped shirt and grey pants, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej was wheeled while holding a leash for his dog. HM the King has spent over a year at the hospital.

Overwhelmed well-wishers lined up on this day at the hospital waiting to see him and be respectfully in his presence.

During their appearance, HM the King and the princess also laid jasmine garlands first at the monument to the king's sister, Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, and then at a statue of his brother, HM King Ananda Mahidol. They also paid respect at a monument of his mother, Princess Srinagarindra, and at a statue of his father, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla.

HM King Bhumibol returned to the Chalermprakiat Building where he has been residing while at Siriraj Hospial after spending about an hour in public. (MCOT online news)
