CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting held Wednesday discussed an issue of composition of governmental delegation who will deliver the first national reports of Mongolia on a situation of human rights in Mongolia and on implementation of the UN Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. These reports will be given at the 9th meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council's (UNHRC) working croup to be held Geneva, Switzerland. A related ordere will be issued by the Prime Minister.
The head of the Cabinet Secretariat of Government Ch.Khurelbaatar has highlighted a situation with complaints and requests from people, which have been sent to the government in the third quarter of 2010. In this period, the government received 498 letters, gave answers to 340 of them and sent the rest to related organizations.
The cabinet has discussed and backed in principle a draft new wording of the law on advocacy and some draft amendments to the related laws. These amendments will be submitted to the State Great Khural.
Pursuant to the cabinet's decision, licenses of the “Ornokh bulag” and the “Otgon tenger orgil” companies for producing beverages and spirits have been annulled based on the law on combating alcoholism, conclusion of professional inspection agency and proposal from Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry.
The Ministers have got acquainted with results of participation of the Agricultural Minister in the 30th regional conference of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) held September 25-October 1.
The Defense Minister L.Bold has been allowed to take part in international forum on security to run November 5-7, 2010 in Halifax city, Canada.
The cabinet has discussed and approved results of the 14th meeting of the Mongolia-Vietnam inter-governmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation. Then, the Agricultural Minister T.Badamjunai has been ordered to approve a working plan on the meeting and to control over its implementation.
