BISHKEK, October 21 (Itar-Tass) - Russia is sincerely interested in
the soonest stabilization of the situation in Kyrgyzstan, the Russian
president's special envoy for the development of relations with
Kyrgyzstan, Vladimir Rushailo, said on Thursday.
"We are also interested in the restoration of the Kyrgyz economy. We
shall be ready to work with any government that will be formed after the
election," he said. Rushailo sees good preconditions for Kyrgyzstan's
development. He promised that Russia would go on rendering humanitarian
aid to the republic.
"By the yearend the Russian aid delivered to Kyrgyzstan via
international organizations will total 25 million dollars," Rushailo said.
He stressed the Russian leadership's special attention to the
development of relations with the Kyrgyz republic and the readiness to
intensify "the cooperation in future."
The parliamentary elections were held in Kyrgyzstan on October 10.
Nearly 56.5 percent of the 2.85 million registered voters went to the
polls. Some 29 parties contested 120 seats in the Kyrgyz parliament.
Only five parties cleared the five-percent barrier - the Ata-Zhurt
(Motherland) party with 26 seats, the Social Democrats with 26 seats,
Ar-Namys (Dignity) with 25 seats, the Republic with 23 seats and Ata-Meken
with 18 seats. The official results of the election have not been
announced yet.
