OIC Chief urges peaceful co-existence, global peace and security 4 Tehran

Ihsanoglu said "Excellencies,
Ladies and Gentlemen

The OIC Member States and Muslims around the World are going through
a momentous period in their history. In the Middle East, the
Palestinian question remains unresolved; Israel still occupies Arab
and Palestinian territories. It continues to deny the Palestinian
people all their inalienable rights. Our Member States are also
confronted with other daunting political challenges in Iraq,
Afghanistan, Sudan, Somalia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Jammu and Kashmir and
issues of Muslim Minorities and Communities. The menace of terrorism
and the baseless attempts to link it to Islam and the alarming
phenomenon of Islamphobia and attempts to defame Islam and its
prophet (PBUH) represent serious challenges to the Muslim World.

As for the Iran's nuclear issue, I would like to reiterate OIC's
full support to the inalienable rights of all Member States to
develop nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. We firmly support the
stand that Iran's nuclear issue should be settled exclusively through
dialogue and peaceful means.
