First round of world chess championship success for Azerbaijan
Baku, October 21 (AzerTAc). The first round of the world chess championship in Khalkidhiki, Greece, has marked a success for Azerbaijan.
Zeynab Ismayilzade, Khanim Balajayeva, Ulvi Sadikhov, Aydan Hojatova, Gunay Mammadzade, Elvin Bayramov, Ulvi Bajarani, Sabina Ibrahimova, Vasif Durarbeyli and Nermin Kazimova beat their rivals in their openers.
The Swiss system tournament will feature 11 rounds.
