ULAN-UDE, October 20 (Itar-Tass) - Business people from Russia, China
and Mongolia take part in the Border Cooperation 2010 exhibition that
opened on Wednesday in Chita.
Its participants have presented the project of an international
congress hall to be built on the basis of the Zabaikalskiy exhibition
centre. The future project is presented as a Russian-Chinese centre of
high technologies. The territory of Zabaikalskiy is being expanded to
60,000 square meters for that project, sources from the press service of
the Baikal region administration told Tass on Wednesday.
All documents are ready, but search for the investor continues. It is
believed that Chinese business will be the investor. The project is
estimated at 200 million roubles. It will include a pavilion measuring
5,000 square meters, an underground parking lot, outdoor exhibition area
and a business centre. It is expected that high quality and high-tech
products will be exhibited there on a permanent basis.
The Border Cooperation fair takes place in Chita for the seventh time.
It has brought together business people from Russia, China and Mongolia.
They exhibit products of light industry, construction materials,
foodstuffs, tourism services as well as industrial goods.
This year it is held under the patronage of the Russian Chamber for
Commerce and Industry. According to Chita Mayor Anatoly Mikhalyov, "the
fair gives a possibility to expand mutually advantageous cooperation in
the development of small and medium-size businesses, to create economic
and social infrastructure on border areas".
