CHINESE AND KOREAN COMPANIES TO INVEST IN BENGKULU
Bengkulu, Aug. 2 (ANTARA) - PT Noahs Ark Indonesia company from China and PT Betrise Technology Indonesia of South Korea have planned to invest in Bengkulu Province.
The Benkulu provincial investment coordinating board has issued a temporary permit for PT Noahs Ark Indonesia and a permanent permit for PT Betrise Technology Indonesia, Musia Danis, the local investment board's chairman, said here on Saturday.
"Both foreign investors applied for the investment permits in July 2008, and we immediately processed them," he said.
PT Noahs Ark Indonesia would be engaged in mining service sector with a total investment worth US$2.5 million, he said.
PT Betrise Technology Indonesia would invest US$1.1 million in the oil palm plantation and crude palm oil processing businesses, he explained.
The South Korean company would establish cooperation with local company PT Puding Mas, which has a lot of experiences in oil palm and palm oil processing businesses, he said.
In the first semester of 2008, four foreign companies have invested in Bengkulu, including PT Corien Investment (with investment value worth US$700,000), and PT Pathaway International (Rp21 trillion).
