ASIAN DRAUGHTS CHAMPIONSHIP STARTS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The 5th 10x10 Draughts Asian Championship started Wednesday in the Olympic House--the headquarters of Mongolia's National Olympic Committee (MonNOC). The competition is being attended by players of Mongolia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
The Mongolian male team is represented by a Grand Master D.Erdenebileg, three times Asian champion and ten times national champion; D.Battulga, a master of the FMJD (World Draughts Federation); R.Manlai, a FMJD master; and D.Ganbold, a sports master. The women's team comprises Ts.Enkhzaya, E.Mandakhnaran and B.Tuvshinzaya.
Co-organized by the MonNOC and the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports, the competition is sponsored by the “Mon laa” LLC and Mongolia's National Public Radio and Television under auspices of the Government of Mongolia.
