STATE HEAD RECEIVES DIPLOMATIC CREDENTIALS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Diplomatic credentials were submitted Tuesday to Ts.Elbegdorj, the President of Mongolia, from the Ambassadors of Macedonia, Sweden and Iran to Mongolia.
Firstly, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Macedonia to Mongolia Mr. Oliver Shambevsky presented his letter of credence to the State Head.
At the meeting held after the ceremony, the President mentioned that Mongolia had supported endeavor of the world community to establish peace and security on the Balkan peninsula, and emphasized an importance of seeking together an opportunity to develop the bilateral relations and cooperation in new conditions and to exchange representatives on various levels.
The Macedonian Ambassador was born in 1973 in Skopje city, Macedonia. He graduated the linguistics department of the University named after Kirill-Mephodi majoring in literature. He speaks English, Italian, French and Spanish.
The Mongolia-Macedonia diplomatic relations were established June 27, 1995.

The President received Mr. Lars Peter Freden, the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden after the ceremony of presenting credentials.
Mr. Elbegdorj has said Sweden "is one of the leading partners of Mongolia in northern Europe, and our countries have traditional friendly relations". He has underlined an important role of the Embassy of Mongolia to Sweden in forward the bilateral relations and cooperation, and expressed a willingness to boost the collaboration with Sweden in some spheres such as mining and education.
In response, the Ambassador has said he will pay a great attention to developing the cooperation, and congratulated the President on sending peacekeepers to Afghanistan and on issuing a moratorium on capital punishment.
Born in 1951, Mr. Freden graduated universities in Sweden and the USA majoring in Russian studies and sinology.
Our countries established diplomatic relations June 30, 1964. The Mongolia side opened its Embassy to Sweden December 2, 2009.
The countries signed an inter-governmental agreement in 2003 on jointly supporting and protecting investments. Since the year 1990, six Swedish companies with capitals of USD 560 thousand have been registered in Mongolia. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) has rendered assistance of some USD 28 million to Mongolia in the last 20 years.

The same day, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mr. Mahdi Safari submitted the credentials.
Mentioning about ancient historical and cultural ties between Mongolia and Iran, the President has said Mongolia wants to cooperate with Iran in cultural spheres such as researching Mongolia-related historical materials stored in Iran.
In turn, Mr. Safari expressed a willingness to develop the cooperation in cultural and economic sectors.
Mr. Safari, a doctor on information and communication, worked as a deputy mayor of Bushehr city and as Iranian ambassador to Austria and Russia.
