President Ahmadinejad officially welcomes Venezuelan counterpart
Tehran, Oct 19, IRNA – Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad officially here welcomed visiting Venezuelan counterpart Hugo Chavez.
In a ceremony held in the Iranian presidential premises in Tehran Tuesday morning, the two presidents reviewed guard of honor after the anthems of the two countries were played.
The Iranian and Venezuelan presidents will hold private talks in no time.
President Chavez arrived in Tehran Monday night leading an eco-political delegation.
He will meet and confer with a number of Iranian officials during his two-day visit.
His trip is taking place within the framework of efforts to further deepen and broaden Tehran-Caracas bonds and expand bilateral relations.
Chavez visited Russia, Belarus and Ukraine before traveling to iran. This is his ninth visit to Tehran since he took office in 1999.
Some of Venezuela cabinet members including ministers of oil, industries, telecommunications and commerce are accompanying Chavez in his visit to Tehran./end
