European prosecutors council to have plenary meeting in Armenia.
YEREVAN, October 19 (Itar-Tass) - Problems occurring in the
administration of justice on criminal cases involving delinquents and the
role of prosecution in the correctional system will be the topics of the
5th session of the Consultative Council of European Prosecutors due in
Armenia's capital Yerevan later Tuesday.
The plenary meeting will bring together 42 representatives of 33
member-states of the Council of Europe, spokespeople for the Prosecutor
General's Office or Armenia said.
The Russian delegation is led by Deputy Prosecutor General Alexander
Zvyagintsev.
Wednesday, the participants in the session will elect the Consultative
Council's president, vice president and bureau members.
This is the first time that the Council is holding a meeting in
Yerevan.
Armenian Prosecutor General Agvan Ovsepian and Alexander Zvyagintsev
had a meeting Monday, in the course of which they discussed cooperation
between the two countries' Offices of the Prosecutor Generals.
Armenian officials said the two men praised the current level of
cooperation and mapped out new guidelines for its development.
