Enemies trying to widen rift between govt. and people: Iran prosecutor

TEHRAN, Oct. 19 (MNA) – National Prosecutor General Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei has stated that enemies are seeking to deepen the rift between the people and government officials by launching psychological warfare.

“Enemies are trying to disappoint people and widen the rift and discord between the people and officials by waging psychological warfare (against the Islamic system),” Mohseni-Ejei said on Monday in a meeting with provincial prosecutors.

“Prosecutors should respect people’s rights, expedite legal proceedings and try to restore public confidence in order to foil enemies’ plots,” the chief prosecutor said.

So far all the plots against Iran have failed and the hegemonic powers have changed their approach in confrontation with Iran by resorting to soft war, Mohseni-Ejei, a former intelligence minister, noted.

Mohseni-Ejei also called on the prosecutors to identify and deal with those who have been deceived by enemies and are seeking to undermine the system.
