Venezuela’s President Chavez arrives in Tehran
Tehran, October 19, IRNA – Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez arrived in Tehran Monday night atop a high ranking eco-political delegation for meetings with Iranian counterparts.
According to IRNA, President Chavez was received at Tehran International Mehrabad Airport by IRI Industries Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian.
In addition to meetings with the IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Chavez would during his two-day visit of Iran also meet some other Iranian officials.
Chavez’ ninth visit of Tehran as the Venezuelan President is in line with further strengthening of the excellent Tehran-Caracas relations, reaching new bilateral agreements as well as seeing into the implementation of the already reached agreements.
Former legs of Chavez’ current regional tour have taken him to Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine./end
