Azeri composer Uzeyir Hajibayli`s 125th birthday marked in London
Baku, 18 October (AzerTAc). An event to mark the 125th birthday of prominent composer of Azerbaijan Uzeyir Hajibayli has been held in the Azerbaijan House in London.
The event was attended by members of the Azerbaijani community in London, officials of the Azerbaijani Embassy and representatives of general public.
Addressing the event, Chairman of Board of the Azerbaijan House Ali Tekin Atalar highlighted the composer`s lifetime and activity and his contribution to development of the Azerbaijani music in the 20th century.
Azerbaijani ambassador to UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov said Hajibayli founded the classical music in his country.
The event participants saw a film featuring Hajibayli`s lifetime and activity.
