World Forum of Spiritual Culture kicks off in Astana
Astana, 18 October (AzerTAc). A World Forum of Spiritual Culture has started today here bringing together public, political, cultural figures and scientists from 71 countries.
Azerbaijan is represented at the event by ambassadors Polad Bulbuloglu to Russia and Hasan Hasanov to Poland, chairman of Writers` Union Anar, representative of the International Informatization Academy Maya Badalbayli and others.
The Forum was opened by Chairman of the Senate of the Kazakh Parliament Kassym-Jomart Tokayev who read out a message of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to the participants.
The address says: “The Day of Spiritual Harmony is celebrated in Kazakhstan annually. Our capital city Astana became the place of holding of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions. The issues of trust, tolerance, mutual enrichment of cultures and open dialogue were included in the agenda of the OSCE Summit in Astana”.
“I believe the World Forum of Spiritual Culture will be an important step in strengthening spirituality, extension of dialogue between cultures, civilizations of the modern world,” the President said in his address.
