PYONGYANG, October 18 (Itar-Tass) -- The sixth autumn international
fair has opened on the territory of the Three-Revolution Exhibition in the
capital of the DPRK on Monday.
A total of about 140 companies from 18 countries, including China,
Germany, Russia, Italy, Mongolia, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia,
Austria, Indonesia, Cuba, Poland, Taiwan and other countries, presented
their products at the fair.
Representatives of 64 different firms and trade amalgamations arrived
here from China alone.
Many people gather at the pavilions where goods produced in the DPRK
are sold. In particular, products of the perfumery and pharmaceutical
industry made with the use of famous ginseng are great demand.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, DPRK Deputy Minister of Foreign
Trade O Yong Chol spoke out in favour of further development of
multilateral trade and economic cooperation and technological exchanges.
He also noted that the DPRK government intends to strengthen economic ties
with friendly states in future on the basis of principles of equality and
mutual advantage.
According to O Yong Chol, the exhibition participants will be able to
make sure of the great economic potential of present-day Korea, as well as
of successes achieved by the Korean people in different fields despite the
sanctions introduced by imperialist reactionaries.
Heads of diplomatic missions, including Russian ambassador to
Pyongyang Valery Sukhunin, representatives of international humanitarian
organizations, as well as ITAR-TASS and Xinhua journalists accredited
here, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
