CASPCOM`s 15th session to be held in Astrakhan, Russia
Baku, October 18 (AzerTAc). The 15th session of Coordinating Committee on Hydrometeorology and Pollution Monitoring of the Caspian Sea (CASPCOM) will be held in Astrakhan on October 19-21.
Attending the event will be Ramiz Mammadov, corresponding member of Azerbaijan Academy of Science (ANAS) and Dr. Rza Mahmudov, director of the Research Institute of Hydrometeorology of Azerbaijan Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.
The Azeri specialists will also participate in the international conference on climate change and water balance of the Caspian basin. The conference will feature discussions on current state of the climate change and its influence on the Caspian hydrometeorological situation.
Azeri representatives will make speeches on the topical problems of the Caspian Sea.
Founded in 1994, the Coordinating Committee acts on “Integrated Program on Hydrometeorology and Monitoring of Environment in the Caspian Sea Region”, which aims to establish a regional system for monitoring and exchange of pertinent information on the state and pollution of the environment, and providing a framework for comprehensive studies on changes in the Caspian Sea water level, as well as on the environmental impact in the region.
