Iranian puppeteers to stage “House of Bernarda Alba” at French festival
TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (MNA) -- Iranian stage director will stage “The House of Bernarda Alba” at the Charleville-Mézières Puppet Theater Festival in France.
The play will go on stage at the coming edition of the festival which will be held from September 16 to 25 in 2011.
Over 2000 works were submitted to the secretariat of the gala and we are among the 120 selected plays,” Sabri", whose “The Earth and the Universe” was staged in the 2009 edition of the festival.
She went on to say that two representatives from the festival watched a performance of “The House of Bernarda Alba” in Tehran before she submitted a film of the play to the secretary of the gala.
Roxana Bahran, Neda Hengami and Mehdi Shahpiri are casts and puppeteers of the play which was written by Federico García Lorca and designed by Reza Mehdizadeh.
Charleville is a world-renowned center for marionettes and puppeteers – boasting an historic association with the art that stretches back to 1941.
