Short films from 95 countries line up for Tehran festival

TEHRAN, Oct. 18 (MNA) -- The secretary of the Tehran International Short Film Festival said that the participation of 95 countries affirmed the international impact of this festival.
Hashem Mirzakhani announced in a press release by the public relations of the festival that over 2500 films from different countries were submitted to the secretariat of festival.

“Such a high number of submitted movies provides a great opportunity to exchange experiences between countries,” he said.

He called the festival “the most important event in short films in Asia” saying that countries from Europe, Asia, Africa and U.S. attended the event.

He went on to say that the festival aims to hold several workshops and meetings attended by Iranian and foreign cineastes and cinema experts during the upcoming edition.

Mirzakhani expressed his hope to expand regional cultures of different provinces in Iran by screening the films which feature regional costumes in their productions
