BISHKEK, October 15 (Itar-Tass) - The leader of Kyrgyzstan's Social
Democratic Party, Almazbek Atambayev, has taken a short trip to Moscow,
the party's headquarters told Itar-Tass on Friday.
"We can confirm that Atambayev left for Moscow, however we will
refrain from naming the tasks of his trip," the source said.
On Thursday, the leader of Ar Namys (Dignity) Party, Felix Kulov, and
representatives of Ata Zhurt (Native Land) returned from the Russian
capital.
The parties' headquarters confirmed this information, but declined to
comment the results of these trips.
The headquarters of Respublika Party said the party's leader, Omurbek
Babanov, was also on a business trip.
Five parties passed a five percent threshold and won the parliamentary
seats. Ata Zhurt can get 28-29 of the 120 seats in the parliament, the
Social Democratic Party - 25-26 seats, Ar Namys - 21-22 seats, Respublika
- 20-21 seats and Ata Meken - 18-19 seats. Another party Butun Kyrgyzstan
(United Kyrgyzstan) insists on vote recounting to enter the parliament.
Protests against election returns have been underway in the Central Asian
republic's region for the third day.
However, the central election commission said the latter gained only
4.84 percent of votes.
As none of the parties managed to win the parliamentary majority,
their representatives have to create coalitions. The parties' leaders
continue consultations.
However, some Kyrgyz political scientists believe that ambitions and
old grievances prevent the party leaders to create coalitions.
