Iran: President’s Lebanon visit changed regional equations

Beirut, Oct 16, IRNA – Iran’s Information Minister Heidar Moslehi said President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Lebanon visit changed the equations in the region.
Pointing to the very special attachment people in southern Lebanon have for the Iranian nation, Supreme Leader and President, the minister said they were even strongly inspired by the epic of Iranians during the sacred defense period in their resistance against the Zionist regime.
Moslehi, who was accompanying the Iranian President in the two-day visit, also noted that it was quite an unprecedented event that the Iranian President traveled to a region so close to the Zionist regime borders to pay homage to the resistance and the bravery of the people in the region and received such a magnificent welcome.
He believed one particular characteristic of the visit was that it helped promote unity in Lebanon which in itself would reinforce the resistance.
Moslehi said the visit would also have strong impact on the regional equations and functions as a starting point in the future./end
