US adopts ‘double standards’ while dealing intl affairs: Pak. Analyst

Islamabad, Oct 16, IRNA – A senior Pakistani defence analyst said on Friday that US adopts ‘double standards’ while dealing international affairs.
Talking to IRNA Dr.Riffat Hussain Chairman Department of Defence and Strategic Studies, Quaid-i-Azam University said US always follows different approach when the case of Israel comes.
“Certainly US follows double standards and it is a known fact of the US policy”, said Dr.Riffat Hussain.
“They have different policy for the rest of the world”, he added.
Commenting over the statement of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan that the United States is supporting world terrorist and the common enemies of Pakistan and Turkey, Dr.Riffat Hussain said that in fact the Turkish Prime Minister was referring to Israel.
Erdogan in an interview with Pakistan’s daily The News was very hard on the “double standards” of the U.S. and said that a recent Israeli attack on a Turkish ship Freedom Flotilla has unmasked the so-called civilised face of Washington who openly and shamelessly supported the state terrorism of Israel.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan and Iran have a common future, security of one country lies in the security of others but “our enemies are creating problems for us”.
Dr.Riffat Hussain expressing his views over the remarks of Turkish Prime Minister said that cooperation of Iran, Pakistan and Turkey is extremely important for regional stability.
He said that the US is willing to take Iran on board on the issue of Afghanistan but the anti-Iranian lobbies in the US are opposing such a move.
The Turkish Prime Minister said, “The U.S. was supporting some common enemies of Pakistan and Turkey and the time has come to unmask them and act together”.
He insisted that Pakistan and Turkey must play a decisive role to stabilise Afghanistan.
Erdogan said: “We have common problems and common solutions, military dictatorships have always created problems and democracy is a common solution”./end
