CABINET MEETING IN BRIEF
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The cabinet held Wednesday discussed and backed in principle a draft law initiated by the President of Mongolia on financing of higher education, scholarships for students and social guarantee. This draft will be submitted to parliament reflecting proposals from cabinet members.
The cabinet also has backed a draft law on procedure for altering the Constitution of Mongolia, initiated by O.Enkhtuvshin, D.Lundeejantsan, Ch.Saikhanbileg, Ts.Monkh-Orgil, D.Odbayar, S.Oyun, J.Sukhbaatar, Kh.Temuujin and D.Enkhbat MPs. In addition to it, a draft parliamentary resolution has been backed in principle, initiated by A.Tleikhan, N.Batbayar and Ts.Tsengel MPs on some measures for the fuel and energy sectors.
The cabinet has considered as necessity to establish an inter-governmental agreement on cooperation in nuclear energy sector between Mongolia and the Republic of France.
The Minister of Environment and Tourism L.Gansukh has been allowed to participate in the 10th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 10) to be held October 27-29 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture, Japan.
The government has approved a directive to be maintained by representatives of Mongolia to take part in the 8th meeting of the Mongolia-DPRK inter-governmental consultative commission for economic, commercial, scientific and technical cooperation that will run October 20-24, 2010 in Ulaanbaatar. The Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and head of the commission for Mongolia T.Badamjunai has been allowed to approve a composion of Mongolia's representatives.
