China`s province hopes for further expansion of coop with RF.

GUANGZHOU, Guangdong Province, China, October 13 (Itar-Tass) - China's
southern province of Guangdong and Russia have big prospects for
developing cooperation in different fields, governor Huang Huahua told
Itar-Tass.
Speaking at a press conference on Wednesday, Huang said, "Russia and
Guangdong have much in common in the economic development. We have
possibilities for complementing each other and developing mutually
advantageous cooperation."
"In recent years trade and economic cooperation between Guangdong and
Russia has developed successfully," the governor stressed.
For the period between 2000 and 2008, trade turnover increased up to
5.7 billion U.S. dollars. In addition, the annual rates of trade turnover
reached at least 28.9 percent. In January-August 2010 trade turnover
between both parties amounted to 3.8 billion U.S. dollars. According to
the governor, cooperation developed quickly and dynamically between
different Chinese and Russian regions, including between such cities as
Guangzhou and Shengen.
At the same time, Huang said he hoped for further cooperation with
Russia in key fields. Among such directions, he named export of
competitive goods and technology from Russia. He pledged that the local
government would provide contribution to Russia and create favourable
conditions for this.
Guangdong hopes that the Russian authorities will create favourable
investment conditions for enterprises and provide support for creating
trading centres.
The governor called for joining efforts aimed at creating joint
ventures and developing cooperation in such directions as energy
resources, aircraft building, high technology, as well as mutual
investments into different projects.
Huang expressed hope for further strengthening of scientific,
technical and humanitarian contacts with Russia. Speaking about scientific
and technical cooperation, the official said both parties should set up
research centres.
"It is necessary to create favourable conditions for developing
bilateral cooperation. We hope to continue contacts with Russia in order
to improve the investment climate so that the governments of both
countries will facilitate the creation of a solid mechanism of cooperation
between Russian and Chinese businessmen," the governor stressed.
