SPEAKER MEETS MRS. IDRAC

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Parliament Speaker D.Demberel received Wednesday Mrs. Anne-Marie Idrac, France's Minister of State for foreign trade.
D.Demberel has underlined that France is one of the European countries which ties with Mongolia are rooting from ancient times. "The Mongolians always thank France for appreciating Mongolia's democracy and for rendering comprehensive assistance," he has said.
He has noted that the inter-parliamentary relations are important in advancing the ties and collaboration in all spheres such as politics, trade, economics and humanitarian spheres, and that the cooperation between parliamentary offices has been widening. He also has mentioned that the State Great Khural is paying attention to Mongolia's prospective development and intends to closely collaborate with the European parliament and exploit European standards as a key to development. He then hoped that France will help Mongolia in it.
The Speaker has emphasized that the countries have gained an opportunity to collaborate in exploitation of nuclear energy and uranium, and expressed a confidence that the economic and trade relations will get more achievements thanks to the official visit of France's minister of foreign trade.
In response, Mrs. Idrac has thanked the Speaker for the audience and expressed a satisfaction with successful start of her visit to Mongolia. She has mentioned that the countries are going to sign an inter-governmental agreement on cooperation in nuclear sector.
Mrs. Idrac has sais she is confident that her visit will become an important step to intensify the bilateral ties in trade and economics, adding that France is ready to share its experiences with Mongolia in the democracy, human rights and good governance. She has noted that France can be a good partner for Mongolia in equally distributing benefits from mining sector to people and in cooperating in the mining and agricultural sectors.
