Six-point earthquake rocks Tonga islands.
VLADIVOSTOK, October 13 (Itar-Tass) - An earthquake measuring 6.1
points rocked the Tonga Islands (Southern Pacific) on the night from
Tuesday to Wednesday. The earth jolts were recorded at a depth of 9.9
kilometers, and the epicenter of the temblor was 150 km north-east of the
town of Nuku'alofa, the US Geological Service reported.
One minute and a half before the quake, another earth jolt with a
magnitude of 5.5 points had been recorded. There has been no word about
the aftermath of the quakes.
