Violinist Sayaka Seji to give concert in the Urals Wed.
YEKATERINBURG, October 13 (Itar-Tass) - Prominent Japanese woman
violinist Sayaka Seji will give this year's only concert in the Urals, at
the Sverdlovsk State Academic Philharmonic Society, on Wednesday. She will
play together with the Urals Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Dmitry
Liss, an official in the press service of the cultural institution has
told Itar-Tass.
The concert will usher in a series of Top League elite programmes, in
which famous musicians from all over the world will take part.
At Wednesday's concert, musicians will play two works by Johannes
Brahms: Concerto for Violin with Orchestra and the First Symphony.
The philharmonic society official said, "Several years ago Japan's
NIPPON Foundation allowed Sayaka Seji to play the violin made by Antonio
Stradivarius. Hungarian musician Josef Joachim, a friend of Brahms, used
to play the violin previously. It is unknown so far whether the Japanese
player has brought the legendary violin to Yekaterinburg".
Sayaka Seji is the winner of the Paganini Competition in Genoa and the
possessor of an exclusive contact with the firm Deutsche Gramophone, with
which she recorded four albums. Sayaka Seji performs together with most
eminent musicians of our times, such as Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Bashmet,
Mikhail Pletnyov, Yuri Temirkanov, and Vladimir Ashkenazi, and with the
leading orchestras of the world.
