Top officials of CSTO, SCO, EurAsEC, CIS to step up cooperation.

MOSCOW, October 12 (Itar-Tass) - Senior officials of the Collective
Security Treaty Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the
Eurasian Economic Community and the CIS will create a working group on
interaction, the CIS Executive Secretary, Sergei Lebedev, said after the
meeting in Moscow on Tuesday.
"We've agreed to set up a working group on interaction between our
organizations. It will bring together deputy executive and deputy general
secretaries of the CSTO, SCO, EurAsEC and the CIS. We've agreed to hold
regular meetings to draft plans to coordinate our efforts in counteracting
modern challenges and threats," he said.
In a joint statement senior officials of these organizations expressed
their intention to strengthen cooperation to ensure security and economic
development of member-states.
"We will develop cooperation and take all efforts aimed at stabilising
the situation on the Eurasian space and strengthening the organizations'
international prestige," they said adding that they will regularly
exchange information and provide expert assistance to each other.
