BISHKEK, October 12 (Itar-Tass) - Around 300 supporters of the Butun
Kyrgyzstan party (United Kyrgyzstan) have gathered in front of the
building of the republic's central election commission to protest over the
election returns, an Itar-Tass on-the-scene reporter said on Tuesday.
"Our action is peaceful and we will prevent any incidents," one of the
rally's participants said.
According to preliminary results of the republic's central election
commission, Butun Kyrgyzstan collected 4.84 percent of votes.
At the same time the party's leaders said Butun Kyrgyzstan passed the
5-percent threshold and has the right to get the parliamentary seat.
Moreover, supporters of Butun Kyrgyzstan from the Osh and Jalal Abad
regions blocked traffic on the Bishkek-Osh highway that links the republic'
s southern and northern regions.
