BEIJING, October 12 (Itar-Tass) - China hopes for soonest
stabilization of the domestic political situation in Kyrgyzstan, Chinese
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ma Zhaoxu said on Tuesday in his comments on
the republic's parliamentary elections.
"Kyrgyzstan is China's good neighbour. We are keeping a close watch on
the country's political situation and noticed that Kyrgyzstan's
parliamentary elections were successful," he said.
"China respects the choice of the Kyrgyz people and hopes for
comprehensive stabilization of the situation in the country," the diplomat
said. "We are confident that this not only meets the interests of the
Kyrgyz people, but will also contribute to maintaining peace, stability
and prosperity in the Central Asian region," Ma Zhaoxu said.
