Bilateral agreements to strengthen contacts between Qatar,
AL KUWAIT, October 11 (Itar-Tass) -- Qatar and Turkmenistan signed a
set of agreements in Doha on Monday, which will promote and develop
bilateral cooperation.
The two sides signed an agreement on economic and trade cooperation,
on legal cooperation, and on the setting up of a business council under
the two countries' chambers of commerce and industry in the presence of
Emir of Qatar sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and Turkmenistani
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, who is paying his first-ever
official visit to Doha.
In addition, the sides inked a memorandum of mutual understanding
between the governments of Qatar and Turkmenistan and on the holding of
bilateral political consultations.
The sides made a decision to create a supreme committee on cooperation.
Before the signing of the agreements, the two heads of state held
negotiations.
The emir of Qatar and the president of Turkmenistan discussed
prospects for development of bilateral relations and exchanged views on
the pressing international and regional issues.
