Russian servicemen to take part in joint exercises in India

MOSCOW, October 11 (Itar-Tass) - More than 250 servicemen from a
motor-rifle regiment based in Karachayevo-Cherkessia are to be airlifted
to India on October 14 by Il-76 planes of the Russian Air Force. The
Russian servicemen will take part in joint exercises code-named
Indra-2010, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Bobrun, press secretary for troops
commander of the Southern Federal District, told Itar-Tass Monday.
"Upon arrival at Bareilly airport the Russian servicemen will be
delivered to the area of the exercises by transport vehicles. All in all
the Russian servicemen are to travel to a distance of 5,000 kilometers by
air and motor vehicles," Bobrun said.
The area where the exercises will be held is situated in the northeast
of India 350 kilometers off New Delhi and 200 kilometers off Bareilly
airport.
The joint anti-terrorist exercises will be held on October 15-24,
Bobrun said.
