ANIMAL HUSBANDRY IN STATISTICS

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In the first nine months of 2010, 10.5 million heads or 55.0 per cent of total breeding stock at the beginning of the year gave birth.
In these months, survival of young animals amounted to 7,476.6 thousand heads or 71.3 per cent of the young animals born, down by 6,310.6 thousand heads or 45.8 per cent against the previous year.
In the first nine months of 2010 natiowide, 9,822.5 thousand adult animals perished, which equals to 22.3 per cent of total livestock at beginning of the year. Out of these losses, 13.1 thousand heads were camels, 342.1 thousand heads--horses, 557.5 thousand heads--cows, 4,089.6 thousand heads--sheep and 4,820.1 thousand heads--goats. Out of losses of adult animals, 49.1 per cent were goats.
