Man dies after being hit by a train

A man has been killed by a train after his bicycle wheel became stuck in a
pedestrian gate at a railway crossing in Perth.
Police say the man was attempting to cross the railway tracks at Kenwick Station at
about 10.30am (WST) on Monday when the wheel got caught.
Police officers were about 100m away at a nearby liquor store when they saw the man
trying to cross the track.
They called out to the man to stop but he continued to walk across the track.
He was hit by the train and died at the scene.
Police said the tragedy was a reminder for pedestrians to obey the signals at the
train stations.
