Truth Commission with Justice Habibur Rahman Khan as chairman formed
DHAKA, Bangladesh, July 31 (BSS) - Bangladesh government today set up the Truth and Accountability Commission making Justice Habibur Rahman Khan its chairman.
The three-member commission includes former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Asif Ali and Major General (retd) ManzurRashid Khan as members.
President Prof Dr Iajuddin Ahmed signed an official order tothis end, official sources said.
The council of advisers approved the "Right to Voluntary Disclosure Ordinance 2008" on May 25 to create the commission andthe President promulgated the ordinance on June 5.
The government has appointed 26 officials and employees on deputation to the commission and established its office at MintoRoad.
