Nasrollah: Ahmadinejad increases Iran's support for resistance

Beirut, Oct 10, IRNA – Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General said here on Saturday that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's presence in power has led to a considerable increase in Iran's help for resistance in Lebanon.

Seyed Hassan Nasrollah, delivering a speech in south of Beirut, by referring to the late Hafiz Assad ( former Syrian president) strategy concerning Iran and Lebanon Islamic resistance and Palestine, said that in spite of all pressures, the late Syrian president did not overlook support of Iran’s Islamic revolution and the resistance.

He added that Iran, through Lebanese government and Hezbollah, helped to rebuild the demolished areas in war of 2006 and is still standing with Lebanon.

Nasrollah noted that Iran, in spite of all sanctions, is ready to help Lebanon and equip its military, but , regrettably, Lebanon is asking for help from others which lay down conditions.

Addressing the opposition groups in Lebanon, Nassrollah said Iran is ready to help Lebanon and its military, adding, 'If you do not want the help, there is no reason for complaining.'

Nasrollah said that people will welcome President Ahmadinejad in the airport and then he will welcome the president in a stadium in south of Beirut.

He called all Lebanese to attend actively in the welcome ceremony for President Ahmadinejad, adding ,'It is a moral duty and an appreciation to someone who has stood with Lebanese people'./end
