Lebanese minister: We are awaiting Ahmadinejad

Beirut, Oct 10, IRNA – Lebanon cabinet Minister without portfolio Adnan al-Qesar said Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon is 'politically important' adding that Lebanon is awaiting his trip.

Al-Qesar told Lebanese Christian Liberal Newspaper “ An-Nahar” Iran can control political tension in Lebanon through its strong relations with Hezbollah and its other allies in Lebanon and can be effective in decreasing political tension here.

He added that Ahmadinejad's visit to Lebanon would be politically and economically important for Lebanon, because important bilateral agreements in the fields of investment, health, water, electricical industry, and economic cooperation will be signed.

Al-Qesar continued that Lebanese and Arab businessmen will meet with President Ahmadinejad in Beirut and will discuss ways to expand economic cooperation which would certainly be effective in economic and trade exchange between the two countries.

He added that continuation of visits of both governments' officials will have a positive effect, because it will bring about more understanding between both sides./end
